A Little look-see

Here's a glimpse of what I worked on over the past few weeks.  Haven't gotten a lot done, but I like what I did, so that's always an accomplishment!

Ta ta for now-

My last first day

Today was my last first day of school...I'm a senior now (and I can't change that, no matter how much it scares me)!  I had a good day.  Not intense at all, just that syllabus-reading, getting-to-know-you kind of thing in both classes.  I've got two more new classes tomorrow to go to, and then I'll be fully back into a 16-credit term of college.  Yikes.

School is the center of my life now, but I'm trying to figure out how to balance school and life-in-general.  I think sometimes I take school and work too seriously - I let them be the defining parts of my life.  Now, I don't think that this is necessarily a bad thing, but I want to be able to look back on my college years and know that I had a good time.  I have lots of friends on campus - just have to try to to things outside of school with them every now and then.

Peace-

Reading a fluff book...and loving it.

Ok, so I know that I have like no time at all, but I recently picked up a new book at the library. A fluff book - what I call a book that has no educational value, but is SO much more fun to read than anything of the sort. I usually have one going at all times. I read a chapter or two at a time, when I need a break. But it's been like 3 months since I've read one. And now I can't put the current one down. I wish school was over so I could just read all I want. And I plan on doing just that once school IS over. For me, READING = PEACE

Admission

Ok, I have something to admit. That new My Mind's Eye paper that I talked about before? Well, it just got put out at the store. And I may have bought some. Actually, a lot. But I promise I'm going to use it. I promise.

To Share

Came across this scan of a page I did quite a while ago, but had never posted before. It's one of my favorite pictures of the lake we go to every summer. Sorry about the scan - still haven't exactly figured out what works best yet.

Got lots of homework to do and no motivation - so I'd better get to it.

Think spring!

Picture Love

I love pictures. So, it's no wonder that i love scrapbooking. I love when you can capture a person's real personality with the ability to keep it forever. When you look at a picture and can see a person's inner emotions or overall love for life. It really is a priceless thing. Thought I'd share some pictures that I recently scanned into my computer. They're old family photos - SO cool to look at.

Drooling Over....

I've been really bad about procrastination lately...every time I sit down to work on homework I end up doing something entirely different instead. Like now. *laugh* Anyway, it has meant that I have been doing some serious web surfing. And of course, I've found MANY things to sigh at and wish that I had. Thought I'd share a few.

This new stuff from My Mind's Eye has such great color and texture. And such cool embellishments!

Sprinkles!! On Paper!! So cute!!!!!!!

Yeah, I know. I'm addicted to BasicGrey. But it's just so pretty. :)

I have to save as much money as possible right now if I want to study abroad. So, alas, these products are only in my imagination. But they make me drool anyway.

Be creative!

Yearning to scrap. But Having to Work.

I've had absolutely no time whatsoever to scrap lately. My trip pictures are sitting sadly down on my scrapping table just waiting to be made into works of art. Every time I get home at night I just want to go down and do some scrapping, but I am forced to fight the feeling and do my homework instead.

I'm going to make it a priority to take more pictures. I feel like I could document so much more - the good and the bad - and get some scrap therapy out of it. I know that when I'm older and looking back I'll appreciate myself more if I pay attention to the here and now and take pictures of what life is like. I want to be able to remember the good, the bad, friends, family, work, play, everything.

Papers and Bibliographies and Tests, OH MY!

I have recently had to add another folder to my backpack merely for sanity's sake. Inside I have put all of the assignment sheets for things that are due soon. I believe I'm up to 5 different assignments that are due in the next 2 weeks. And I'm not talking small, write-me-a-paper-on-what-you-think-about-this-topic, kind of stuff. I'm talking a 10-15 entry annotated bibliography, a 4-essay midterm, a 5-chapter midterm, a 5-10 page essay, and a 10-15 page paper. Can you say BAH-HUMBUG?
Meanwhile, my beautiful scrapbooking armoire is all set up and ready for use, but alas I now have to time to do such a thing. My poor vacation pictures are being neglected. I have a total of about 6 pages done, and about 12-15 more to do. But I'm ok with that. I have to have SOMETHING fun/enjoyable to supplement the craziness that is being a college student.

So far, So BLAH

I've decided that my new motto is going to be "So far, So BLAH." Kind of like the opposite of so far, so good. Well, maybe not the opposite, but you get the gist.
So I bought this big armoire thing to put all of my scrapbooking stuff in. I'm excited about it, but I have to clean the basement before I can set it up, and thats going to take a while. But then maybe I'll actually have a good, semi-permanent space to set up all of my scrapping stuff. It's really hard to get anything done when I don't have a place for everything. So I'll update on that later.
Other than that, all that's part of my life right now is school, work, and sleeping. I'm constantly worn out: i'm hoping that that will go away.

Talking here

Yup, it's been a while since I've had a chance to sit down and blog a bit. I've been super busy with school (I was on break for a month and a half, but am now back to it) and work. And more work. And then trying to figure out how to stay sane in the midst of it all.
My overall goal for this year is to take better care of myself. It's kind of broad, but it encompasses a lot of things, and that's what I need.
My scrapping goal for this year is to get something (and I mean ANYTHING) published. I'm going to work really hard on staying true to my own style and knowing that, even if it doesn't happen, that doesn't mean that I am a bad scrapper. I would also like to try and blog/write more often to try and get ideas for scrapbook pages and inspired journaling. I guess we'll see how that goes.
